The lenses you choose are even more important than the frames you put them in

Freeman_opticians_lensesThere’s no doubt that choosing a new pair of frames is a big decision. However, it’s important you think about the lenses you put in them too. After all, it’s the lenses you choose that are going to help you see.

At Freemans Opticians, not only do we supply an impressive collection of frames for you to choose from, but a wide range of lenses too. That way, you can rest assured you will only ever leave us with glasses that not only look great, but give you an excellent vision too.

“Being independent means we’re not restricted to providing lenses from particular companies. In fact, we have great relationships with a number of suppliers, which means we’ll always be able to recommend you the product best suited to your needs.” Shimir Patel

These include anti-glare coatings which filter out unnecessary light, scratch-resistant coatings to keep lenses looking like new, and coloured tints to enhance visual acuity.

Some of the lenses we supply at Freemans Opticians include:

Multi-focal lenses

As their name suggests, multifocal lenses enable you to have more than one prescription built into the lens so that you only need one pair of glasses for multiple uses. There are several kinds, including bifocal, trifocal and progressive lenses.

Office lenses

These lenses take into account the intermediate distance between an individual and their computer screen, alleviating the symptoms (such as eye strain and headaches) associated with spending lots of time in front of a visual display unit.

Transition lenses

These lenses darken depending on the level of Ultraviolet light they are exposed to. They therefore incorporate sun protection into your everyday eyewear.

High index lenses

A strong prescription used to mean thick, bulky lenses. However, high index lenses provide thinner, lighter options instead.
